North East chef expands hospitality portfolio with Yorkshire eatery

A North East-based chef and restaurateur has announced plans to expand his hospitality group with a new Yorkshire eatery.

Terry Laybourne, who operates Café 21 at Fenwick in Newcastle, is set to launch another of the same brand in York’s Fenwick store.

The launch of Café 21 at Fenwick in York will bring the total number of restaurants in the 21 Hospitality Group to seven.

The Newcastle-based group operates Café 21, Saltwater Fish Company and Porterhouse Butcher and Grill, all in Fenwick’s Newcastle store, as well as flagship restaurant 21 at the Broad Chare and St.Vincent on the city’s Quayside.

Terry commented: “This is an exciting time for 21 Hospitality Group and I’m delighted to be once again working with Fenwick to introduce our dining experience to another of their stores.

“We’ve already collaborated on a number of restaurant projects and it’s a partnership that works very well, so I’m looking forward to bringing our great food to locals and visitors to York.

“Many people from the North East visit York too, so hopefully they’ll enjoy seeing a familiar brand, and eating familiar food while they’re there.”

“Terry is an expert in his field, and highly regarded in the hospitality industry, so we are privileged that he’s bringing his food to Yorkshire.”
