Bradford garden centre creates 24 jobs with launch of new eatery

A garden centre in West Yorkshire has created a raft of new jobs with the launch of its own restaurant.

Tong Garden Centre in Bradford has created 24 jobs after opening a new table service restaurant at its Tong Lane site.

Known as The Mezzanine, the eatery is situated on the first floor of the garden centre’s 2,500 sq m two-storey expansion.

The eatery is the second to launch in the garden centre, and offers brunch and lunch menus using seasonal and local produce as well as a range choice of patisserie, cakes and bakes made in the centre’s instore bakery.

Catharine Westmoreland, catering manager at Tong Garden Centre, commented: “Created by chef Jamie and his team, The Mezzanine’s menu of contemporary dishes is freshly prepared using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients where possible and brought to your table by our friendly team.

“We’re very excited to bring a delicious brunch menu as well as some inspirational dishes for lunchtime, but we’re especially pleased to launch an impressive and irresistible selection of patisserie all made on site by our Food Hall bakers.”
