North East software firm creates £450k of new jobs

A North East software platform has announced that it is creating £450k worth of new jobs in the area.

Paid, based in Darlington, has created more than half a dozen new jobs to “shape and polish” its software platform.

The vacancies include skilled digital roles such as software engineers, product managers and product designers, as well as wider positions in customer support and operations and finance.

Paid is a software platform that provides a supplier management system, automated invoice matching and an instant payment process.

Tom Howsam, founder of Paid, commented: “DigitalCity has been a great supporter of myself and Paid from the very start. It’s a pleasure to be able to work with the team as an alumnus of various programmes.

“I feel like we’ve built up a relationship over the past 15 years and DigitalCity is a trusted friend who wants the best for all Tees digital businesses.”

David Dixon of DigitalCity added: “Tom is one of the great ambassadors for our digital cluster as well as the wider Tees Valley business community.”

“It is a total testament to his character that he is so determined and committed to create as many highly skilled digital roles as is possible right here in our backyard.”

“Tom has made the deliberate choice to support his local area with some extremely exciting roles and the best thing is that this is just the beginning. DigitalCity is both proud and delighted to be supporting him and his team.”
