Sunderland creative agency expands remotely
Like many other industries, the healthcare marketing landscape has changed drastically in 2020. At IGNIFI there has been a fast pivot as our healthcare clients quickly adapted to a new, more virtual, way of working. To meet this increased demand, IGNIFI made several new hires to bolster our existing team and expand digital capabilities and services to clients.
In May of this year, we chose Rudy Sarmah as our new Medical Copywriter. While initially looking for an office-based employee, the successful incorporation of remote working into our daily routines allowed us to widen our search, resulting in Rudy joining as our first full-time remote working employee. Based in Kent, Rudy has a strong background in biochemistry and medical sciences along with 10 years of medical writing experience gained in both medical education and advertising agencies for a number of well-known pharma companies. Rudy is now helping to create and edit much of the scientific content behind the marketing campaigns generated at IGNIFI.
Once companies adjusted to a business environment reshaped by Covid-19 restrictions, we found ourselves receiving more opportunities from both new and existing clients necessitating more resources in our client services team. And so, we turned to a colleague from the past, Mark Brown.
Mark was a part of the company for 18+ years in senior account management roles with a focus on our health and active lifestyle clients, and in his time away had supplemented his skills and learning in other industries and more recently with another healthcare communication agency. This has enabled him to hit the ground running on his return to IGNIFI, adding to our capacity to service increased demand.
Our most recent hire was Digital Engagement Manager Laura Smith, who has over 13 years marketing experience gained in a variety of professional service firms. As a certified digital marketer Laura has a broad range of digital marketing experience with specific expertise in content marketing, social media, marketing analytics and email marketing.
The acceleration in digital transformation within our industry means it’s a perfect time for Laura to join – helping us expand our digital offerings to clients and reimagine our own digital and content marketing growth strategy heading into 2021.
IGNIFI Managing Director, Dave Watson, commented, ‘2020 has been a different challenge to the one we expected. When Covid-19 hit we had two real priorities: Keep our employees safe and keep them working. We’re still focused on these, but have been able to expand our capabilities too with some great new people to help us forge ahead in a constantly evolving communications landscape for us and our clients.’
