Leicestershire-based pet food brand appoints business development assistant and nutrition specialist
Leicestershire-based pet food company,Vale Pet Foods, has announced the appointment of business development assistant, James Bailey, and nutrition specialist, Lauren Hudson, to its growing team.
Responsible for building the brand’s awareness, James will work to further establish Vale Pet Foods as a leading name within the industry. He will also support the business’ growth and presence at trade shows and events, bringing his passion for pet nutrition and welfare.
James boasts six years of pet retail experience, including management roles in multiple stores where he helped drive an increase in sales and profits. Having also previously worked as a veterinary trade marketing assistant, James has extensive experience in creating and developing campaigns for sales teams and veterinary professionals, in addition to creating new commercial opportunities.
As Vale Pet Foods’ nutrition specialist, Lauren will be responsible helping the business develop new products, analysing the nutritional values of each creation to ensure it can offer the very best nutritional values within its products. She recently graduated from Lincoln University with a BSc in Zoology, specialising in animal nutrition.

“Both have already demonstrated a strong enthusiasm for the Vale Pet Foods brand which, along with their background knowledge and experience, will allow them to excel in their roles and help develop and grow the business.”
Vale Pet Foods was established during the UK’s first national lockdown by Luke Chapman, after he became increasingly interested in dog welfare during his 10 years spent working very closely with dogs in both private and public settings.
Recognising that diet is instrumental to a dog’s wellbeing and behaviour, he wanted to produce a dog food that took a proactive approach to dietary needs and intolerances.
