North East housebuilder sets out plans for £16.3m Durham development

A North East housebuilder has announced that it is planning to create nearly 60 homes as it completes the acquisition of a County Durham site.

Avant Homes has acquired a 12 acre parcel of land near Burnopfield village, where it has received planning permission to create a £16.3m development.

The development, called Fairway View, will consist of 59 new homes, and work is set to begin as soon as possible.

The first completions at the site are expected in autumn this year, with the entire site set to be finished within approximately two years.

Avant Homes North East regional director, Jennifer Tupman, said: “We’re very pleased to have agreed the purchase of this site and we now look forward to taking the next steps in moving the development forward.

“Burnopfield is a highly desirable location and following the huge popularity of our Causey Heights development just three miles away in Sunniside, which is selling very well, we can see there is strong demand for our product in Gateshead and surrounding areas.

“Initial groundworks will commence shortly, and we will be revealing the first homes for sale later this month.”
