West Yorkshire property investors disrupt HMO market with new ‘luxury’ offering
A property investment firm has launched its first ‘luxury’ HMO (Houses in multiple occupation) in West Yorkshire.
MW Property Investors has launched a five-bedroom co-living home for young professionals in Huddersfield.
Situated in Lindley, the former three-bedroom end terraced house has been redeveloped into a co-living space with a ‘luxurious’ twist.
Founded by Molly Waterhouse and Liam Widdop, MW Property Investors is now aiming to expand its portfolio and move into the student HMO market to provide ‘luxury’ accommodation for students.
Molly Waterhouse commented: “Changing the stereotype of HMOs is a key focus for our business and we thought creating a co-living house like this, particularly in the current climate, would be just what some people would need.
“A co-living house can help with both loneliness and confidence. A housemate may be just what someone may need to help improve their mental health as a direct result of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
“We have a passion for creating stylish living spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. We’ve diversified our portfolio into luxury HMOs to allow us to be more creative and design something a little ‘out of the box’ that our tenants would absolutely love to call home.”
Liam Widdop added: “As you can imagine, Covid-19 had a major impact on our plans but holding our nerve and waiting for the correct property in the right area was key.
“This extra time afforded us the opportunity to refine our plans and become laser focused on what we want to achieve and we are absolutely delighted with the result and the pictures of the property speak for themselves.”
