Stuart Lumb, Rollits LLP
Law firm Rollits LLP has appointed Stuart Lumb as an associate.
Specialist planning solicitor Stuart, who has built up more than 10 years’ experience in the public and private sectors, previously worked with Knights PLC.
Stuart took his first post at Newcastle City Council in 2010 having followed his LLB Law at the University of Sheffield and a Legal Practice Course at Northumbria University before completing a training contract at Gateshead Council.
He served as a planning solicitor at Calderdale Council from 2012 until 2014 and then spent nearly two years as senior planning solicitor with Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council.
Stuart, who lives in Leeds, joined Shulmans LLP in November 2015, staying with the firm after its acquisition last year by Knights PLC.
Stuart brings experience in dealing with a range of development issues including planning agreements, judicial review, planning enforcement, proposed lawful development and planning policy.

Mark Frier, Garbutt + Elliott Wealth Management
Garbutt + Elliott (G+E) Wealth Management has appointed Mark Frier as a financial planning director.
Mark joins G+E Wealth Management from Schroders Personal Wealth, formerly Lloyds Bank where he held a variety of senior management and adviser positions in the UK, Isle of Man & Gibraltar.
With over 30 years in the industry, Mark brings a range of experience to the business having started his career as a clerk in Knaresborough.

Andrew Clark, Walker & Drake
Cold pressed food manufacturer Walker & Drake has appointed Andrew Clark as business development manager.
Andrew will be focussing on sales and distribution in the Southern UK, Wales and the West. He will also be providing sales training for stores helping to promote the cold pressed message to employees and customers alike.
Andrew is an experienced sales manager having worked for FMCG and high-end brands including Wrigley’s confectionery and Swatch. He then spent over seven years working in the pet industry.
Andrew commented: “Working for Walker and Drake is a fantastic opportunity being part of a very dynamic team and a new business with the responsibility to grow sales in the south.
“It will be a great challenge to help shape the business and grow this fantastic product range.
“Cold pressed pet food is not new but there is great potential for innovation and growth due to the obvious benefits from other types of kibble on the market and it’s made in England!”
Amy Jean Johnson, ORB Recruitment
Doncaster-based recruitment agency ORB Recruitment has appointed Amy Jean Johnson as recruitment consultant.
Amy joins the ORB Care team, drawing on her experience of working in care homes for the elderly, as well as with children with learning difficulties and mental health problems, to work with clients and candidates within the health and social care sector.
Amy said: “I’m excited to have joined the team at ORB Recruitment. It is my first role in the recruitment industry and I’m really enjoying learning new skills and undertaking training on the job.
“I have extensive experience within the health and social care sector which I’m getting to draw on as part of the ORB care team, supporting both candidates seeking new roles and our clients, too.”

John Kelly, NG Bailey
Engineering and services business NG Bailey has appointed John Kelly as group commercial director.
John has spent his career in the engineering sector and joins the business from Imtech UK & Ireland where he also held the role of group commercial director.
John has also previously held senior commercial leadership roles with Mercury Engineering, Laing O’Rourke Crown House and Wimpey/Tarmac/Carillion.
John commented: “NG Bailey is leader in its sector with a fantastic heritage and an exciting future ahead. I’m delighted to join the company as it celebrates its centenary year and support its continued growth and development.”

Faris Dean, Berkeley Rowe
Specialist commercial and corporate law firm Berkeley Rowe has appointed Faris Dean as partner and Gideon Rix as associate.
Faris Dean will head up the firm’s corporate and commercial department, bringing with him over 15 years of experience in corporate and commercial law.
As well as a solicitor, Faris is also a chartered certified accountant, having previously trained with two of the ‘Big 4’ international accountancy firms. He will also focus on legal aspects regarding trade and investment in Middle Eastern countries, utilising his bilingual Arabic and English language skills.
Commenting on his appointment, Faris said: “Over the past 18 months, Berkeley Rowe has gone from strength to strength, so I am delighted to be joining a respected firm with a solid reputation and equally ambitious plans for the future.
“I look forward to growing my department as well as working with colleagues from across the firm as we expand our client offering, especially in the Middle East.”
Gideon joins the corporate law firm’s dispute resolution team with a range of experience, having previously advised clients on all aspects of commercial litigation, such as professional negligence and disputes in the construction and energy sectors.
Gideon commented: “I am delighted to have joined such a dynamic team of experienced litigators, and I can’t wait to start playing a central role as the department and wider business expands into new and exciting areas.”

Drew Stansil, Fresh Pastures Food
Fresh Pastures Food Service has appointed Drew Stansil as sales manager.
Previously senior national accounts manager for Freshways Dairy, Drew brings with him a range of category insight and sector knowledge.
Liaising with strategic partners, Drew will also focus on driving the business forward as it aims to move from regional to national supplier and distribution status.
Drew commented: “The ambition of this business made this move the perfect next step for me. I like the pace, the determination and the teamwork that exists here. Not a day goes by where daily interactions don’t bring excitement and positive challenge in equal measure.
