This week's Yorkshire appointments

Lee Richley, RWO

Civil and structural engineering firm RWO has appointed Lee Richley as senior structural Revit technician.

Lee brings a range of experience of liaising with architects, subcontractor designers and other technical disciplines as well as engineering design knowledge to the role.

Lee’s responsibilities will include working with the company’s engineers to produce Revit models and structural steelwork, concrete, masonry and timber drawings from initial concept stage through to the construction phase on a range of projects.

In addition to managing incoming drawings and models from architects and specialist subcontractors, Lee will assist in the development of Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes and standards.

Steve Clarke, Castlehouse Construction

Castlehouse Construction has appointed Steve Clarke as quantity surveyor.

Steve joins the company from Cardinal Project Management and prior to that he was with ISG Construction where he held QS roles. He brings a range of experience, having worked across multiple sectors in the construction industry, on projects ranging from £10k to £10m.

Responsible for subcontractor and labour only employee management as well as project procurement and cost control, Steve will also liaise and negotiate with client quantity surveyors.

Scott Lunn, Niemen Architects

Architectural practice Niemen Architects has appointed Scott Lunn as associate director.

Scott, who qualified at Leeds Beckett University, previously spent 10 years with Watson Batty Architects as an associate. He brings a range of knowledge and experience having delivered multi-million-pound education schemes for the Department for Education, Leeds City Council and York St John University.

Scott also worked as a retained consultant for a major supermarket retailer gaining planning permissions for new stores alongside mixed-use regeneration schemes. His experience also includes large-scale commercial and mixed-use development projects.

Will Marshall, Chris Megson and Jessica Knight, DPP Planning

Town planning consultancy DPP Planning (DPP) has announced a pair of senior appointments and a promotion within its Leeds team.

The firm has appointed Will Marshall and Chris Megson as senior planners and promoted Jessica Knight to planner.

Will joins DPP from Urbana Planning in Sheffield, bringing with him seven years’ experience working on residential and commercial schemes.

Also joining the firm is Chris, who joins from ELG Planning in Darlington, bringing with him six years’ post-graduation experience.

Although both Will and Chris will be Leeds-based, their new roles will see them involved in projects across England and Wales, as well as working with directors and staff across DPP’s network of offices.

Jessica joined DPP’s Leeds office in October 2017, combining her assistant planner role with the completion of her planning degree. Since joining the company, Jessica has grown her professional skills and has supported the Leeds office on a number of major schemes.

David Hunter and Brian d’Arcy, Schofield Sweeney

Schofield Sweeney has made two new appointments to its team.

David Hunter joins the commercial team as a director while solicitor Brian d’Arcy joins the corporate team.

David acts for a range of businesses PLCs to SMEs and helps firms at all stages of their life. He negotiates and drafts commercial agreements and assists businesses in the management of risk and compliance issues.

David has experience and profile in the energy sector and in renewable energy, having worked as an in-house lawyer for almost 10 years at a company which operates globally in this sector.

David commented: “I am very pleased to join Schofield Sweeney. I share the firm’s commitment to providing straightforward legal advice to its clients.

“My time in industry has helped me to understand exactly what clients are looking for from their advisers. My aim is to understand my client’s business and its issues and to help it achieve business goals by providing practical advice and support on its journey.”

Brian specialises in corporate acquisitions and disposals (of both shares and assets), intra-group re-organisations (including share buybacks, share for share exchanges and share re-designations) and general corporate administration.
