New vice-principal role to drive forward curriculum at city college
Coventry College has appointed a new senior post holder to drive forward its curriculum. Patrick Geary has been appointed to the role of Vice-Principal for Curriculum Innovation, Quality and Performance at the city’s leading FE college.
The new role will form part of the college’s Senior Leadership Team and Patrick will be responsible for curriculum development, as well as leading departments in safeguarding and student support teams.
Carol Thomas, Principal and CEO at Coventry College, said: “Patrick comes to the college with a wealth of experience in further education.
“This new post will be key to driving forward the curriculum to ensure it meets the needs of the students and the local economy.
“There are some exciting opportunities as Coventry takes centre stage as the UK City of Culture this year, with the college acting as a partner, and we are looking forward to building on these.”
Patrick, joins from Sandwell College, where he held the post of Vice Principal for Quality, Information and Curriculum.
Previous to that he worked at Birmingham Metropolitan College and Solihull College & University Centre in a senior leadership position.
Patrick said: “It’s a really exciting time to be joining Coventry College.
“There is a real sense of momentum both for the city and the college, which has been reflected recently in the amount of applications for the new academic year. “I’m looking forward to working with staff across the college as we look to build on these opportunities.”
