Mike Brehme, Typhoo Tea
Mike Brehme, the co-founder and CEO of Clipper Teas for 27 years has been appointed as the chairman of Typhoo Tea in a move that underpins the company’s commitment to growing its brands both in the UK and internationally.
Mike joins Typhoo Tea following a business restructure in 2021 that saw Zetland Capital, a London based private equity firm, become a majority shareholder and Abercross expand its shareholding.
Des Kingsley, CEO of Typhoo Tea, commented: “Mike is as passionate about tea as we are. His depth of experience and knowledge of our category have already proven extremely beneficial.
“We have a renewed focus on our brands at Typhoo Tea. Mike’s experience of creating and nurturing an incredibly successful international brand, without forgetting the importance of people and the planet, will be invaluable to our plans.”

Terry Wolfendale, Pulse Outsource
Pulse Outsource, the specialist back office and funding solutions provider are delighted to announce that they have appointed Terry Wolfendale as managing director with immediate effect.
Terry who recently joined Pulse as a regional director for their invoice finance business takes over the reins of this important business within the Group with his appointment designed to help the firm capitalise on its reinvigorated strategy as it seeks to achieve ambitious growth objectives.
Having spent two decades working within the financial services sector Terry brings a credible reputation for structuring and delivering funding solutions to UK businesses ensuring they have access to the funding they need to grow.
Terry commented: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead the Pulse Outsource business at such an exciting point in its development. Having recently reset its strategy and strengthened its proposition to clients, we are confident of increasing our support to those UK businesses who rely on placing contract staff.
“Our funding and back-office solution not only improves cash flow to help fund these placements, but it also removes those non-productive back-office tasks enabling business owners to focus on the day to day running of their business”.
Lucy Kuc, Encore Personnel
Midlands recruitment agency, Encore Personnel, has announced the appointment of a new director to its board as it continues its transitional phase to a new leadership team and following sustained turnover growth across the business’s Managed Services division.
Lucy Kuc steps into the role of sales director after most recently excelling as head of client solutions for the managed services division of the business.
The latest promotion to board follows the appointment of Pete Taylor as managing director in 2019, who has set out clear and bold directives for the business as it moves forward from the pandemic, including its new sales direction.
Lucy began her time with Encore in 2017 as a business development manager with a hunger for developing the agency’s selling force toward new horizons and enhancing Encore’s reputation for being the best staffing solutions provider in the Midlands.
She commented: “I’m utterly delighted to be taking this next major step in my career at a business that simply feels like home and this appointment allows me to contribute to decisions that shape the future of the business from a sales perspective.
“My vision for the Sales team is continuation of plans to create a high performance and sophisticated sales culture which is centred on strategic wins and value-added, cross-selling approaches. We’re all about giving customers and potential customers what they need, when they need it – be that 10 or 1,000 colleagues.”
