This week's Yorkshire appointments
This week’s round up of Yorkshire appointments includes AON, SportShoes.com, JSIG and DCLT. Read on to find out more.
Jodie Wiseman, AON
Wiseman, who has 12 years experience, was promoted to client manager in April 2021 ahead of commencing maternity leave with her second child.
Returning to Aon, following maternity leave, Wiseman has started her new role and is now responsible for managing her own book of clients, developing and maintaining knowledge of her client’s operations and risk exposure, reviewing and revising insurance programmes, collaborating with brokers, and new business development.
Jodie Wiseman said, “I am very pleased to have been promoted to client manager. As a progressive company, Aon has fully supported and encouraged me, while its flexible approach to work means that I can continue to progress my career as well as raise my family.”
Tracey Threlfall, Aon’s regional managing director North said, “at the heart of Aon’s culture is the belief that diverse, inclusive teams deliver the best outcomes for clients and the company’s long-term success. Jodie thoroughly deserves to be promoted - she is talented, hard working and has a bright future ahead of her.”
Jon Cleaver, SportShoes.com
Premium online running shoes, running clothing and outdoor gear retailer SportsShoes.com has hired a former chief technology officer (CTO) of online fashion retailer In The Style. Jon Cleaver has joined the £92m turnover Shipley-headquartered business as CTO to continually enhance SportsShoes.com’s online customer and athlete experience.
Alongside his professional career, Jon is also an athlete who has represented Lancashire at cross county running events. He recently achieved his marathon personal best of 2 hrs 33 mins running for the SportsShoes.com team at this year’s Paris marathon.
Commenting on his appointment, Jon said, “as an active athlete, and someone who has bought products from SportsShoes.com dozens of times, I have an insight into the wants and needs of our customers.”
Earlier this year, SportsShoes.com announced its intention to become the world’s most sustainable running equipment retailer by 2025. Called ‘Leave No Footprints’, SportsShoes.com’s sustainability strategy also includes becoming carbon net-zero in the future.
Welcoming Jon to the company, SportsShoes.com managing director, Brett Bannister, said, “Jon and I have talked at length about his plans to make SportsShoes.com a best-in-class customer experience, as well as the most technology-led retailer in running and performance sports, and we have already started to implement some of his ideas.”
James Munton, JSIG
JS Information Governance (JSIG) has appointed a new director to lead future growth strategies. The Yorkshire-based company, which specialises in end-to-end Data Protection consultancy, technology and document digitisation, has named James Munton as Managing Director.
James has been with the company since it was founded in 2020 with the merger of three smaller data governance firms. Prior to working with JSIG, he spent over a decade in domestic and international defence and security. His impressive CV includes serving across multiple operational functions at the Ministry of Defence and the Home Office.
As Managing Director, James will bring his experience of change management across estates, people and technology to the table. He will also guide JSIG in its mission to help SMEs operationalise their information management and data protection obligations.
Steve Tarr, chairman at JSIG, said, “James has consistently displayed passion, focus and discipline, helping to evolve JSIG through the uncertainty of the pandemic, and on towards its exciting future. Under his leadership, we look forward to a successful next chapter for our company and its growing network of clients and partners.”
Cathy Hinde, DCLT
Doncaster Culture & Leisure Trust will further develop their leisure, culture and events offering across venues after appointing a key team member. Cathy Hinde, from Ashbourne in Derbyshire, joins DCLT as Marketing and Business Development Manager.

Cathy joins from Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and High Peak Borough Council, where she was responsible for managing the leisure operating contract with seven leisure facilities and developing an Active Communities plan working within the local communities.
Cathy said, “This role feels like a fantastic opportunity to be involved with such a diverse leisure organisation. I can be part of a team helping to further develop the leisure offer to the people of Doncaster whilst helping to bring a greater long-term financial security to the trust.
