This week’s round up of London appointments includes Shakespeare Martineau, Reward Finance Group, Brown-Forman and Stature London . Read on to find out more.
Maddie Cordes, Shakespeare Martineau
Shakespeare Martineau has appointed a new director to help grow and enhance the reputation and brand of its company secretarial and governance business.
With more than 30 years’ experience, Maddie Cordes has joined the firm’s company secretary business, where she will also be sharing her knowledge with the team, as well as Shakespeare Martineau’s existing and new clients.
Prior to her new role, Maddie – who is based at the firm’s London hub but working with clients nationally – worked across both professional practice, including EY, Capita and TMF Group, and in-house as a company secretary for a range of listed and unlisted companies across all sectors.
Maddie said: “I am thrilled to have joined Shakespeare Martineau as a thriving and dynamic business and be given the opportunity to return to professional practice after working in-house as a company secretary recently to share my experience more widely.”
Ben Harber, partner who heads up Shakespeare Martineau’s London-based company secretarial team, said: “We are delighted to welcome Maddie to our team. Her experience across both professional practice and in-house means she has an in-depth understanding of our clients’ challenges.
Mark Swindell, Reward Finance Group
SME lender, Reward Finance Group, has further expanded its team in London and the South East, by appointing Mark Swindell as its new business development director.
Mark joins the company, which provides tailored business finance loans and asset based solutions between £50k and £5m to SMEs, to further cement and grow Reward’s presence across the region via its well-established network of introducers, commercial finance brokers and borrowers.
Reward launched in London late last year and is headed up by experienced asset based lender, Simon Adcock. Mark will work closely with Simon and their network to ultimately guide SMEs through the working capital needed to both grow their business or overcome a short-term financial requirement.
Speaking about joining Reward, Mark commented: “I’ve been very impressed by the work Simon and the team have done to quickly establish Reward as a major financial player in London and the South East and therefore jumped at the chance to be part of this exciting period of growth.
Simon Adcock added: “With our growth to date in the region and across the UK, together with our future expansion plans, it was key to bring someone of Mark’s calibre on board, to help continue to drive the business forward.”
Ryan Van Arnam, Brown-Forman
Brown-Forman has appointed Ryan Van Arnam as VP, managing director for UK and Ireland. He replaces Jeremy Shepherd who moves stateside to become SVP, president, US & Canada. Ryan began his career with Brown-Forman 14 years ago working in a sales leadership role in California and later adding multiple states to his area of responsibility.
He progressed into General Management leading the Southeast Division and since 2018 has been VP, managing director, East Region and Canada based in Atlanta, Georgia. He will be relocating to the UK with his wife and two children.
He will take up the role in London on July 1 with a focus on growing Brown-Forman’s Premium Portfolio, such as Jack Daniel’s and supporting Emerging Brands such as Fords Gin, Woodford Reserve and el Jimador. Van Arnam will report to Marshall Farrer, SVP, President of Europe.

Lee Marple, Stature London
Expanding international project and cost management consultancy Stature London has appointed a new director to lead the project management team.
Lee Marple has been appointed director - head of project management and joins Stature London at a time of expansion, having recently relocated to larger offices in the centre of London, near Victoria Station.
Lee arrives with more than 30 years’ experience in the property sector, with 19 years at global commercial real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield, where he worked alongside Adam Lynch who moved on to found Stature London.
“We’re delighted to have Lee join the team at an exciting period of growth and development at Stature London. We are busier than ever, so Lee’s help will be critical in defining and managing the next chapter in our development,” said Adam Lynch.
