Bellway supports flexible working with on-site Workhub at Sydenham development

Bellway London has opened the doors to a new private Workhub for residents at its Maybrey Works development in Sydenham.

The developer is building 159 one, two and three-bedroom apartments on the former Maybrey Foundry site, off Worsley Bridge Road. A total of 108 homes are available for private sale, while there are 51 affordable apartments available through rent or shared ownership.

Maybrey Works will be the first Bellway London development to launch a private Workhub for residents, and just the second in the country, following on from Bellway North London’s The Foundry, in Hemel Hempstead, in December last year.

Emma Hamlett, Sales Director for Bellway London, said: “Everybody has been working very hard in the run-up to our official launch of our residents-only Workhub at Maybrey Works. The creation of this space was in response to the change in how people are working and the need for our residents to have a space to work from home.

“Since the pandemic, more and more businesses are allowing flexible working and therefore it is now more important than ever to have a space where residents have the opportunity to work from home – so we have created this space on the ground floor of one of our apartment buildings to fulfil that need.

“Residents are now able to separate their work and home life, while enhancing the sense of community spirit with neighbours within Maybrey Works.”

The Workhub will be equipped with ultrafast, hyperoptic broadband which can be used within individual pods, inserted within the communal Workhub space, in the interest of privacy for residents at the development.

Emma said: “This development has been popular with a range of buyers, but the introduction of this workspace has seen a lot of working professionals, including first-time buyers, take advantage of the opportunities the site has to offer.

“Our Workhub is one of a number of excellent amenities available at Maybrey Works, including an on-site gym, concierge service, central communal gardens, cycle storage, parking spaces, as well as a car club for those wanting to travel into work via road.”

The development also offers first-time buyers the opportunity to take advantage of the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, allowing them to step onto the property ladder faster than they would otherwise be able to.
