This week's Yorkshire appointments
This week’s round up of Yorkshire appointments includes Xpand, Glentrool Estates Group & Hall Brown Family Law. Read on to find out more.
Fran Watson, Xpand
Saltaire-based digital marketing agency, Xpand, has expanded its team with the appointment of a talented design and content professional. The agency, which recently celebrated its 15th birthday, has welcomed creative art and design graduate Fran Watson to the team.
Her appointment follows a string of milestones for the firm, which includes recently creating a senior management team, reporting its best financial year yet and trademarking its unique Solar 7 Strategy Model.
Commenting on Fran’s appointment, Danni said: “I was blown away by Fran during the interview stage. It impressed me that she had excelled into management positions from such a young age, all whilst studying at university. I can’t wait to witness the positive impact she will have on each of us, our clients and her career.”
The agency has been focusing on recruiting further talent with different specialities in response to growing demand for its services and trends within the sector. Fran’s creative abilities will complement this mission, adding further value and a different perspective on client work.
Fran said: “This honestly feels like my chance to really excel, the opportunity of a lifetime. I learned of my creative abilities at a young age, but I was unsure as to what career path they would take me down.”
Sarah Friskney & Chris Skipp, Glentrool Estates Group
Glentrool Estates Group, the Yorkshire-based property development and investment company, has strengthened its talented team with two new senior appointments. Sarah Friskney has joined Glentrool as property development director, while Chris Skipp is the company’s new property construction manager.
Sarah commented: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to join Glentrool’s fantastic niche team. My background of development and asset management in the last 23 years will only strengthen, support and grow the development and investment pipeline here.
Meanwhile Chris Skipp, who has 17 years’ experience in commercial property, joins from UPP, the UK’s leading provider of on-campus residential and academic accommodation. He previously worked for DTZ and JLL.
He explained: “I am delighted to be joining the talented and expanding team of Glentrool as a Property and Construction Manager. I have been made to feel very welcome already and I look forward to bringing my knowledge and experience to the company to help continue its growth.
Jeremy Nolan, director of Glentrool, commented: “Both Sarah and Chris have arrived at Glentrool at a significant time in our development, as we look to build on our success at Sherburn2 and enhance and expand our commercial property portfolio.
Zoe Round, Hall Brown Family Law
Hall Brown Family Law has underlined its credentials as South Yorkshire’s leading family law firm with another senior hire. The boutique firm has recruited Zoe Round as a consultant at its Sheffield office. Prior to her joining Hall Brown, she led Irwin Mitchell’s family law team in the city.
Ms Round joins Hall Brown having already amassed 30 years’ family law experience, dealing with high value financial claims on divorce and a variety of complex cases involving arrangements to protect the well-being of children.
Since opening in the first weeks of the pandemic, Hall Brown’s Sheffield operation at The Balance development on Leopold Square has grown in size and importance. Ms Fernandes now heads a time of eight staff, including newly-appointed solicitor Hayley Jetson and trainee Rachel Cocker.
The Sheffield office was the first of two Hall Brown offices in Yorkshire to open. A second, in Leeds, launched in April this year. The firm, which employs a total of 56 people, 43 of whom are fee earners - saw its turnover increase from £4.1m to £5.4m in the last full financial year.
