IMPS extends its partnership with Lincoln City's women's team
National potato supplier Branston has extended its relationship with Lincoln City FC by sponsoring the club’s women’s team for the 2022/23 season.Lincoln City Women, which plays in FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands, will wear the company’s logo on the front of both its home and away shirts for the season.
The agreement is a natural extension of Branston’s ongoing partnership with the club, which has recently seen it named as a Platinum Plus partner for the men’s team’s upcoming EFL League One campaign.
Simon Telfer, HR director at Branston, said: “We’re delighted to announce that we’re growing our partnership with Lincoln City and throwing our support behind the women’s team as they prepare for the 2022/23 season.
“The club isn’t just about football, it’s a hub for the community, which brings together people of all ages and gets them supporting grassroots sport in our home county of Lincolnshire. A lot of our staff members are fans of the club, and we’re excited to see our logo on the shirts of the teams running out at the LNER Stadium and Moorlands Sports Club over the upcoming season.”
Growing from its strong local roots, Branston is a leading supplier of potatoes across the entire UK, sourcing and packing approximately 350,000 tonnes of spuds each year for retailers and wholesalers.
The firm’s sponsorship money is set to aid the club in maintaining its facilities, as well as supplementing training equipment, travel to away games and the overall support of the team’s success.
Simon added: “We hope this partnership, which has been in the works for a number of months, will encourage other national companies to get behind grassroots teams and champion the next wave of sporting stars.”
Adam Chantrey, head of commercial at Lincoln City FC, said: “With the club having worked closely with Branston on previous seasons, we are thrilled that it has decided to extend its support to the women’s team.
“With women’s football currently at the front of everyone’s minds, it is great to continue our long-standing relationship with Branston with this sponsorship, which represents our joint commitment to the local Lincoln community.”
