Rachael Nevins, The Belfield Group

One of Europe’s leading designers and manufacturers of upholstered furniture and home furnishings, The Belfield Group, has announced the appointment of Rachael Nevins as chief executive officer to drive the next phase of growth at the private equity-backed firm.

Working alongside NorthEdge and the Belfield management team, Rachael will be focussed on operational excellence, customer service and maintaining high product quality across the four brands within The Belfield Group. As a design and technology-led manufacturer, the business is also planning to invest further into its technology capabilities to meet evolving customer demands.

On the appointment, Rachael said: “My career has always centred on people and change management, looking at businesses and teams from a different perspective and forming plans to build and enhance on current offerings. There is so much more potential to be delivered at The Belfield Group, and I’m looking forward to working with a fantastic team to bring our plans to life over the next few years.”

Anne Wilkinson & Callum John, Wylde Connections

A rapidly growing sustainability consultancy based in the West Midlands has appointed a new non-executive director (NED) and a junior sustainability consultant as it presses ahead with ambitious expansion plans.

Wylde Connections has bolstered its senior leadership team with the appointment of Anne Wilkinson as NED who joins the company with over three decades of experience in senior leadership roles working with global multinational and SME organisations as a director, executive coach, consultant and mentor.

Managing director of Wylde Connections Denise Taylor said: “These services are an exciting addition to our tailor-made strategic consultancy, training and stakeholder engagement programmes for companies looking for support from qualified experts with real-world business experience to develop their sustainability strategy.”

Wilkinson is joined at the company by a second new appointment, junior sustainability consultant Callum John. John’s initial focus will be to strengthen the development of Wylde’s new app: Enveglas - a sustainability impact assessment tool due for launch in 2023.

Taylor commented: “Anne and Callum bring with them the additional experience, skills and capacity to help us grow further and continue to develop our sustainability proposition for businesses who are looking for help from experienced business experts.

Darren Reynolds, LDS

LDS is pleased to announce the appointment of Darren Reynolds as its Transaction and Portfolio Director. A former investment head at Homes England, Darren will be re-united with former colleagues Ben Jenkinson, regional director, and Gordon More, strategic advisor.

The LDS Sales Guarantee removes uncertainty by ensuring the purchase of any unsold homes and improves returns by releasing a zero-interest cash deposit. It is in increasing demand from developers, lenders and finance brokers as market conditions continue to worsen.

Whilst at Homes England, Darren successfully delivered over £4bn of development finance products through a variety of debt, equity, and guarantee structures. Most recently, Darren led Homes England’s cornerstone equity investment into Newstead Capital’s SME development lending fund which will provide c. £1bn of new finance to the sector.

“I am really pleased to be joining LDS at this exciting stage” Darren explained. “Whilst at Homes England I saw the positive impact that LDS is already having on the market, in particular with development lenders, and I look forward to working with Ben and Gordon again to accelerate this.”

Andrew Smith, Society of Industrial and Office Realtors

The European chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), the leading global association for real estate advisors, has appointed Andrew Smith, commercial partner at Carter Jonas, as President. Smith succeeds past president, Paul Danks, and will serve from October 2022 until 2024.

Smith is a real estate advisor in the commercial division of Carter Jonas, with over 27 years’ experience in the industrial and office markets. He currently works with a number of major global occupiers and landlords on acquisitions and disposals in the industrial sector across the UK and Europe.

Commenting on his appointment, Smith said: “The current market is challenging and ever-changing, so there has never been a better time to demonstrate the value of high-quality, professional, clear advice in the investment, development and management of real estate assets and portfolios. The SIOR designation is one of the world’s most valued and the association’s members are best-in-class.”

Other strategic priorities for Smith’s term include continuing to improve diversity and inclusion in the industry and encouraging the next generation of professionals. Immediate past president, Paul Danks, said: “It has been a career highlight to lead the European Chapter of SIOR over the past two years. I have every confidence in Andrew’s ability to continue to grow and develop SIOR in Europe.”
