Richmond based wellness & beauty brand partners with independent fashion boutique

Richmond beauty sleep brand, Kiss the Moon, has partnered with Jak & Liza, one of Beaconsfield’s top independent fashion boutiques, to create The Sleep Lounge - a unique shopping experience designed to help people get a beautiful night’s rest.

This collaboration is a great example of how like-minded businesses can work together to innovate and support one another by creating exciting new retail experiences that encourage people to support small, independent businesses.

As well as Kiss the Moon’s award-winning aromatherapy range, The Sleep Lounge features handpicked luxury bedtime products such as sleepwear, cosy cushions and night-time beauty and relaxation essentials.

Kiss the Moon was founded eight years ago by businesswoman Jo Foster. Believing in the fundamental importance of a good night’s sleep to mental and physical health, she created the brand and its natural aromatherapy ranges.

Launching originally with their kissthemoon.com the brand then extended opened a retail space, moving to its current base at Aske near Richmond, North Yorkshire in 2020. As well as the store, the Kiss the Moon team also run regular events around the themes of beauty sleep, wellness and relaxation.

Their range of night-time skincare, bath & body products and home fragrance are also stocked through several independently owned retailers and hotel spas including neighbouring luxury hotel, Middleton Lodge.

“During these uncertain times, it is key for small independent businesses to work together to reach new customers and to create unique shopping experiences,” says Jo.

Working alongside, Jak & Liza boutique owner Sam Kenwright, The Sleep Lounge concept has been driven by Kiss the Moon who hope this collaboration could be the first of many. “We believe it’s important to keep our local high streets alive and we’d love to see more small businesses working together to create interesting new retail concepts and help one another grow” says Jo.

“Shoppers still want to buy instore, adds Jo, who has seen a shift post-pandemic from online sales to more instore visits where customers can ask about, try and feel the product. “Post-lockdown, it feels like more people are keen support small makers and to interact with people who are passionate about what they are creating.

“We’d be keen to create more opportunities for people to get hands on with Kiss the Moon on their local high street through more initiatives such as these.”
