This week's National appointments: Featuring United Trust Bank, DMWR Architects & Lodders
This week’s round up of National appointments includes United Trust Bank, DMWR Architects & Lodders. Read on to find out more.
Tirath Singh & David Masters, United Trust Bank
United Trust Bank (UTB) has made two new appointments to its Property Development Originations team to increase its support of housebuilders and developers operating across the Midlands.
Tirath Singh joins the Bank as director property development. He has worked in business and real estate finance for over a decade, most recently with Avamore Capital and Assetz Capital. He has lived and worked in the West Midlands for many years and his local knowledge and experience will be extremely useful when supporting customers active across the region.
David Masters has worked with lenders including Oblix Capital and, most recently, Hampshire Trust Bank where he was a senior relationship manager in their Development Finance team.
In his role as manager, property development, he will work closely with UTB’s Simon Cartwright, director property development, who has supported housebuilders and developers across the Midlands, Oxfordshire and northern home counties since joining UTB last year.
Adam Bovingdon, head of property development at United Trust Bank commented: “Tirath and David have joined us at just the right time. Housebuilders are always looking to acquire land for their next projects, coming to fruition in 2 or 3 years, but some may find their regular lenders more cautious and less amenable given the gloomier outlook.”
Gary Wolstenholme, DMWR Architects
Gary Wolstenholme has joined DMWR Architects as Associate Director based in the Manchester practice.
Barry Harper-Smith, Managing Director of DMWR Architects comments, “We are delighted to welcome Gary to the Manchester team at an exciting time where we are seeing the expansion of our practice with five additional team members. Gary brings a wealth of experience on both the design and delivery side, and I look forward to working alongside him on the many exciting projects we have in the region.”
Gary has over 20 years’ experience working for UK practices including DLA Architects, Aedas/AHR, 3DREID and Falconer Chester Hall across a wide range of sectors, predominately focusing on residential, student accommodation, leisure, education, and commercial sectors. He is passionate about architecture and the wellbeing and mentoring of the team, ensuring future talent is developed and nurtured.
Gary Wolstenholme comments, “I am very excited to be joining DMWR at an important time in the further progression of the company. I am eager to play a key part in the continued expansion of the Manchester office, building on the good work that has been done to date and increasing our presence in Manchester and the Northwest.”
Tom Ellis, Lodders
Law firm Lodders has appointed Tom Ellis, partner in the firm’s Risk & Compliance team, as its first General Counsel. With around 170 staff including 28 partners, Lodders is one of only a handful of independent law firms of its size in the UK to have a full-time in-house General Counsel.
Lodders’ managing partner, Paul Mourton says: “Compliance and regulation play an increasingly important part in the legal sector and appointing an in-house General Counsel is central to the firm’s risk and compliance agenda and strategy, and another example of us having experts in each necessary field to facilitate a compliant and profitable business,” he says.
Tom is also involved with a range of different projects, works on the firm’s processes and controls, advises on operational issues, delivers training to the firm’s staff about key risk and compliance matters, and contributes to the evolution of Lodders’ ESG agenda by drawing together the many components and assisting in the formulation of policies.
Paul Mourton adds, “Lodders is known for its ambition, vision, legal talent and agility, and, together with our culture and drive, this enables the firm to continue to be one of the leading and fastest-growing law firms in the region and demonstrates its strategic focus on a consistent flight to quality and excellence.”
