Northumberland recruitment firm boosts turnover by 539 per cent and creates jobs

A Morpeth based recruitment organisation has thanked Scaleup North East for helping them increase turnover by 539 per cent as well as creating nine new positions within the company and has “ambitious” plans for the years ahead.

Samantha Spoors set up Talentheads in the midst of the pandemic in 2020, growing from just herself in her kitchen to having an office based in Morpeth, Northumberland. Whilst remaining “humble” to its North East based clients, Talentheads also works with companies nationally and internationally.

Samantha came to Scaleup North East after being recommended to Angelina Bell, Scaleup partner, by a client. After meeting with Samantha, Angelina embarked on the journey of mapping out various business models and approaches to scaling the business.

She brought in Scaleup Partners, Jon, Craig and Tony to one of the meetings to enable the four partners to share their experiences and advise on whether to grow region by region, through acquisition or to franchise.

This provided a wider professional network and Angelina became the sounding board, advising on what direction Talentheads needed to move. Through a series of discussions, Angelina helped Samantha to understand what she wants the business to look like in the future and identified things to be aware of.

Samantha commented: “If I had not reached out to Angelina we would not be where we are now without a doubt. There’s no judgement, they can come and stand next to you, and you can be very honest and vulnerable, and they can advise you on what they’ve learnt and offer guidance.

“There are tough times you go through and self-doubt but if you believe you have something to offer that is credible and long term you’ve got to take the risks.”
