Acropolis Street Food push for expansion with help from 'leading law firm'
A North East street food favourite is proving it has the recipe for success as it consolidates franchising plans with help from a leading law firm.
Multi award-winning Acropolis Street Food has gone from strength to strength since it launched in 2016, opening six physical locations and making regular appearances at food festivals and events across the region.
And to support the growth plans in the coming years, the business which is run by brothers Filip and Viktor Tachan, and Yusuf Yenil has taken legal advice from Mincoffs Solicitors’ franchising team.
The team prepared two separate agreements to suit the varying needs of the brand – which is the first Greek franchise company in the North East with one for franchisees based at permanent premises and another for those planning to operate a mobile business.
Along with the franchising department, the Acropolis team worked with Mincoffs’ team of corporate solicitors to reinforce its company structure and received operational advice and support from Ken Rostron, Partner at Darlington-based consultancy firm, The Franchise Company.
Acropolis co-founders and directors Yusuf, Filip and Viktor are looking forward to taking on new challenges. “Acropolis was born through our passion to bring authentic Greek street food to the North East and we have been blown away by the huge wave of support we have received from day one,” said Yusuf.
“It has been a fantastic experience getting to bring traditional Greek flavours and cooking methods to the region and our next step is to expand, so it was really important we made sure we found the right legal advice and support to help us reach the next stage.
“Mincoffs Solicitors has been a huge help every step of the way and it’s been brilliant being able to draw on the advice from both the franchising and corporate teams all under one roof.”
The brand are regular features at events across North and South Tyneside, with stalls at the Quayside Market, Tynemouth Market, Jesmond Food Market, Hebburn Market and more planned for the future.
Antony Hall, Partner and Head of Franchising at Mincoffs Solicitors, is a Professional Affiliate member of the British Franchise Association (bfa) and was delighted to assist the business with its growth plans. “Acropolis has become a staple of the North East food scene and has an excellent reputation, so expanding into further locations seemed like the next logical step for the business,” he said.
“Our team created franchising agreements which were tailored to the company’s needs, to ensure that the fantastic food and service the business is known for remains consistent whether it’s at a physical site or a mobile location. It has been a pleasure to support Acropolis with their growth plans and we look forward to working closely with them as they further expand the business down the line.”
