Adam Dowson, Spencer Riley

International executive search agency Spencer Riley has promoted Adam Dowson to divisional manager as it continues to invest in its team and expand its specialist cold chain and life science logistics division.

Adam joined Spencer Riley in 2017 as a trainee and has progressed through the ranks to executive, senior executive search consultant and then principal search consultant before his latest promotion to divisional manager.

Adam has established himself as an experienced global consultant in the highly regulated cold chain and life science logistics sector. Spencer Riley continues to invest and grow this and other specialist teams.

His clients comprise “market-leading” couriers, temperature-controlled packaging solutions innovators and major integrators providing complete supply chain solutions across Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America.

Adam Dowson commented: “It is great to have my role at Spencer Riley recognised with this latest promotion. My ambition now is to build my team further and to expand into niche areas within the life science logistics and packaging sectors.”

Michael Parden, B. Braun Medical Ltd

B. Braun Medical Ltd, whose UK headquarters are in Sheffield, has announced the appointment of a new UK managing director. Sheffield born Michael Parden has been appointed to the role, having worked for the B. Braun Group for more than 20 years.

Michael, who lives with his family in Sheffield, first joined the B. Braun Group in 2001 when he joined the Aesculap Manufacturing and Technical Services division. He then assumed the role of operations manager at B. Braun Sterilog Ltd in 2010 and became the company’s managing director in 2013.

In 2018, he became the division manager for B. Braun’s Aesculap business division and took over the responsibility for the B. Braun Compounding Aseptic Unit in 2021. Michael commented: “To have been given the opportunity to lead this great company, which employs over 1400 people in the UK, is one that I am immensely proud of.

“Becoming managing director of B. Braun UK was always a huge ambition of mine having spent over 20 years working for the company, so naturally I am absolutely delighted to have been appointed to my new role.

“My vision is for the company to be seen as a flagship employer in the region and we therefore attract and retain the best people. I want each employee to have the same pride working for B. Braun which I have had throughout my career with the company and for them to understand how our products and services make a difference to those who use them.

“As a Sheffield native, I take great pride in my roots, having been born and raised in this city. I proudly represent Sheffield wherever I go. I am excited about collaborating with the business community in Sheffield and the surrounding regions, ensuring that B. Braun is deeply integrated into the local community and at the forefront of patient care nationally.”

Jonathan Harrison, David Wescott, Holly Copsey, Adam Wilson and Sara Wilkinson: Aon plc

Global professional services firm Aon plc has made five promotions in its Leeds advisory team which is responsible for commercial risk. Firstly, Jonathan Harrison has been appointed as head of sales for Advisory UK.

With a career spanning 15 years, most recently as a client management director, Jonathan will draw on his vast insurance experience to lead the sales strategy across the UK for Aon’s mid-market and SME client division.

David Westcott, who has 15 years’ industry experience, is promoted to client management director and will oversee a team of client directors and account executives. He will also be responsible for business development for Aon’s Leeds and Harrogate offices.

Holly Copsey is promoted to client service director, Adam Wilson to client director, and Sara Wilkinson to client service manager. In her new role, Holly will oversee broking on new business, support business development, and allocate resources to new enquiries. In addition, she will be involved with mergers, acquisitions and transaction solutions.

Both Adam and Sara will service their respective book of clients. In addition, Adam will contribute to business development and support wider Aon functions. In her new role, Sara is now responsible for overseeing a team of eight brokers, which involves dealing with all aspects of development and training.

Tracey Threlfall, UK head of advisory at Aon, commented: “These well-deserved promotions are testament to the hard work and dedication given to helping their clients make better decisions. It is great to see the advisory division in Leeds continue to go from strength to strength.”
