Inizio Medical’s major refurb of historic Macclesfield headquarters

Inizio Medical has reopened its historic Macclesfield, UK, headquarters at Victoria Mill following a significant refurbishment. Inizio Medical employs approximately 320 people at the site, where it has a longstanding connection dating back to the 1990s.

The decision to invest in the offices was driven by Inizio’s commitment to the physical and mental well-being of its teams. This also includes a work-from-anywhere policy so employees who choose to work from the office will now have access to a whole suite of services.

The refurbishment means that employees will have access to a suite of new well-being services including yoga, personal trainer-led activities, and a mindfulness coach. Inizio also aims to use the newly refurbished facility as a hub for wider community outreach, engaging with local businesses, and charities to give the organization an enhanced role at the heart of the local community.

Dan Bridges Global CEO of Inizio Medical said “In a post-pandemic world, collaborative in-person working is essential to deliver creative work that stands out from the crowd. We aim to combine the flexibility of hybrid working with the personal touch you can only get with face-to-face interaction.

“This is not just good for the business but is also essential for the learning and development of our talented employees across the business. The importance of employee mental and physical well-being is at the heart of the new working environment we have created through the refurbishment.”

The official grand reopening will take place on the 7th of June and feature an extra special guest at the ribbon cutting ceremony in her 94th year, Joan Hulmeth year, Joan Hulme, who originally worked at Victoria Mill as a floor manager when it was a functioning mill.

The Victoria Mill site has a long and fascinating history dating back to 1830 when it was originally constructed as a silk manufacturing mill, forming part of the North West’s lucrative textile industry during the industrial revolution.

The silk industry is woven into the fabric of Macclesfield’s history with mills and warehouses from the 19th century surviving across the town, as a visible legacy of the golden age of silk that was once the lynchpin of its regional economy.

Elaine Ferguson, global president, Inizio Medical said “Our newly refurbished office space provides not just a dynamic new creative working space for our employees, but also preserves an important part of Macclesfield’s heritage. Having Joan officially reopen the office shows a unique personal connection with the building’s historic past and its commercial future.

“Our commitment to the local community is an integral part of our newly reopened headquarters, we have hired a designated member of staff to forge ties and build relationships in the local area and make the most of the amazing organizations we have on our doorstep.”
