(L - R): Chris Wilson, Rebecca Thompson and Angela Tuplin - The North Tyneside Business Forum
The North Tyneside Business Forum has announced the addition of three new members to its Management Team. These individuals, representing businesses in the area, have generously volunteered their time and expertise to contribute to the growth and development of their local business community.
Rebecca Thompson, a business administrator at Plastic Metal Profiles in Benton, Chris Wilson, proprietor of the Square and Compass Bar in Whitley Bay, and Angela Tuplin director from NE Display Ltd on the West Chirton Industrial Estate, have joined the ranks of the North Tyneside Business Forum Management Team.
Rebecca Thompson views this opportunity as a platform for personal growth and collaboration. “I am eager to expand my knowledge and explore the possibilities out there, all while contributing to the improvement of other businesses. The idea of mutual support within the business community resonates with me,” she stated.
Chris Wilson was highly impressed by his initial experience with the Management Team. “The meeting was enlightening, revealing the dedicated work happening behind the scenes. The meeting structure itself was inspiring, and I’m excited to help drive positive change for North Tyneside businesses,” he expressed.
Angela Tuplin shares the belief that volunteering can greatly benefit others. “I’m a firm believer in volunteering for the greater good, and I believe some businesses in the Borough could benefit from the Forum’s membership and support. Encouraging even more participation in our networking and workshops is one of my goals,” Angela said.
All three new members have numerous connections and links within the business community both within their own sectors and beyond. With all three bringing in new connections in manufacturing, printing, and hospitality the knowledge base within the team has increased for the benefit of others.
(Mid left & Mid right): Gemma Holmes and Eilish Ferry-Kennington - EMG Solicitors
EMG Solicitors, which has offices across the North, in Durham, Newcastle, Darlington, Penrith, and Manchester, has recently appointed head of the court of Protection Health and Welfare team, Eilish Ferry-Kennington and Gemma Holmes, of the Family Law team, as directors.
Their successful appointment follows an intense in-house six month training programme and they now both take their seats alongside the company’s other eight directors. Eilish joined the firm in 2017, bringing her expertise in health and welfare to EMG’s already nationally recognised Court of Protection (COP) team.
Progressing to a senior associate solicitor in 2021, she was appointed to the Law Society’s Mental Health and Disability Committee, before applying to be a director in 2022, while being on maternity leave at the time.
She commented: “With the exciting growth of the team and the opening of three new offices, it felt like the right time to apply for the training programme. It was hard work, but it has been very rewarding. I was given the kind of encouragement that I’ve had since day one at EMG.
Her words were echoed by her new fellow director, Gemma, who joined EMG in 2019 and had also risen through the ranks to become a senior associate solicitor before her latest promotion.
She added: “It’s very exciting to have a seat at the table and to be involved in the wider strategic discussions about the company and where it’s going. When I first joined the team, I was one of only two solicitors in the family law department, supported by a legal secretary. We now have 11 colleagues in the team, operating from four different offices.”
(L - R): Jen Yeo, Jake Johnston and Jenny Henry - JUMP
Newcastle based creative agency JUMP has appointed Jenny Henry as a graphic designer, and Jen Yeo and Jake Johnston as marketing assistants. The new appointments take the headcount at the consultancy to 17, as it continues to see strong demand for its end-to-end outsourced marketing services.
Jen and Jake join marketing manager Kasey Murphy and marketing assistant Alana Whenary as the marketing division, established in 2022, continues to see demand for its marketing-related services, including social media, PPC, SEO-optimised copywriting, and content creation, grow.
Its venture into a comprehensive digital marketing offering adds to the brand, design, website, and technical development services for which JUMP is already highly regarded.
Graphic designer Jenny has a background in commercial design, having worked at media platform Clear Channel UK. Marketing assistant Jen joins as a graduate with a First Class Honours in Business with Marketing from Northumbria University.
Jake, also a Northumbria University graduate with a Fashion Design and Marketing degree, has worked assisting the marketing team at END Clothing since 2020.
Rob Brown, managing director at JUMP, commented: “We’re pleased to welcome Jenny, Jake and Jen to the team. They each bring a unique set of skills and help strengthen the breadth and depth of our marketing division, it’s great to have them onboard.”

SIX’s refreshing commitment to sustainable collaboration with local producers resonates perfectly with the menu I aspire to create under Food Director Greg Lambert.
