Jessica Callaghan Recognised as a Finalist in The Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care Awards
Jessica Callaghan, the Head of People, Development & Culture at Hilton Nursing Partners, has been announced as a finalist in The Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care Awards. She is being recognised in the HR & Recruiter category, a significant achievement that underscores her dedication and innovative approach to HR.
Jessica’s journey with Hilton Nursing Partners began in February 2023. Initially applying for the role of HR manager, her extensive background and expertise in HR quickly revealed that she was destined for a more pivotal role. Consequently, she was appointed as the Head of People, Development and Culture.
Under Jessica’s leadership, Hilton Nursing Partners has witnessed a transformative shift in its HR practices. She introduced a myriad of innovative attraction and retention strategies, resulting in a staggering 27.5% headcount increase since her arrival. One of her standout achievements has been the heightened external awareness of the company’s employer brand and value proposition.
This was achieved through:
Revamping job advertising and introducing UK ‘values based’ assessment centres.
Forging supportive relationships with local colleges to nurture a future talent pipeline.
Implementing the ‘you said we did’ initiative, which led to the introduction of a unique employee benefit – subsidised Benenden Healthcare.
Securing the ‘Great Place to Work’ external accreditation, placing Hilton Nursing Partners in an elite group within the UK Health and Social Care sector.
Establishing a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) qualified team and resolving intricate employee relations issues.
Jessica’s holistic approach to HR ensures that every new recruit undergoes a person-centric induction and onboarding process. This is especially beneficial for overseas nationals joining the Hilton family.
Furthermore, Hilton has reported a consistent reduction in staff turnover and a 5% increase in retention each quarter compared to the last quarter of the previous year. This is attributed to Jessica’s focus on diverse engagement strategies.
In her quest to amplify employee voices, especially in the post-pandemic era, Jessica pioneered an internal engagement survey. The results were astounding, with an Employee Net Promoter Score of +61, ranking alongside major global brands.
Beyond her role at Hilton, Jessica has been a beacon of support for their sister company, Optimal Future. She has co-hosted a series of Culture and Values sessions, which have been met with overwhelming positive feedback and even led to the retention of employees who had planned to depart.
Ann Taylor CEO of Hilton Nursing Partners says: “Jessica Callaghan’s nomination is a testament to her unwavering commitment, innovative strategies, and the tangible impact she has had on Hilton Nursing Partners. The entire Hilton family and the broader HR community eagerly await the results of The Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care Awards.”
