Blondes May Have More Fun But Brunettes Will Rule The World
Brunette, blue eyed ladies in their twenties could be the face of the future, according to new research published this week. The majority of those surveyed for a study into the face of the future believe that the ‘perfect’ human being would be a woman, with 62% of men and 61% of women selecting ‘female’ when asked which gender they would choose for the perfect human life form. Contrary to popular belief, blonde is no longer the hair colour of choice – at least not for the study’s 2,388 respondents. Brown hair came out top, with 36% of men opting for brunettes, alongside 53% of women. Almost half of all respondents chose blue eyes and 50% selected 20-29 years as the optimum age bracket for their perfect human. Perhaps demonstrating the increasingly health conscious outlook of the nation, a toned physique (41%) was ranked considerably higher than a slim body (11%). This research into the shape of life in the future was commissioned by destination marketing agency NewcastleGateshead Initiative. The release of the study coincides with the launch of the AV Festival 06 (2-12 March 2006), which explores new ways of thinking about life from social, ethical, technological and artistic perspectives.
