Children's Monsters Made Real
Have you ever had the experience of being presented with a picture which a child assures you is a picture of yourself, and yet no amount of squinting and turning the picture upside down can help you see what they see? It’s often difficult for us as adults to picture the desired result, but there’s no doubting that children can be incredibly creative. Recognising this, one artist has used the creativity of children to inspire his own art. Motivated by the question: “what would a child’s drawing look like if it was painted realistically?” David Devries has produced some fantastic piece of art based on genuine drawings by children.
