Clergyman's attempts to bring cash points into churches

A senior clergyman has begun plans to install cash machines into churches across the country, in an attempt to help serve the community better, and to help remote areas where no machines are currently available. BBC News reports that the Archdeacon of Lincoln, Arthur Hawes said that he was inspired by churches in medieval times, where a whole range of activities would take place inside the church.Speaking about his proposal, the Archdeacon said: “I know we live in a credit card age but we still need cash for some things. “These people have to travel all that distance, which costs them money, so why not put a cash machine somewhere handy link in a church.” The proposal will have to be approved by the Church of England’s own planning authority.
