Energy-saving device winning national recognition

Business is electric for an energy-saving invention developed in Yarm, after it was featured on the BBC’s Newsnight programme as part of a series about ethical living.Electrisave converts electricity consumption into pounds and pence, making it easier for people to see the direct economic impact of their energy use. The device is sensitive enough to record the savings made by switching off even a 20 watt light. Housing companies including south east-based Michael Shanly Homes, are introducing the Electrisave into new builds to encourage home owners to be more environmentally aware. Electrisave is managed by father and daughter team, John Lane and Melissa Hardy, in Yarm, Teesside. Melissa commented: “When we decided to introduce the Electrisave into the UK, after seeing how much electricity could be saved, we never imagined quite how popular the device would become straight away. We always knew that it would become a must-have device as people are now much more environmentally aware but sales and support for the Electrisave have certainly exceeded our expectations. “We’re constantly receiving positive feedback from our customers who are continually reporting savings of up to 25% on their electricity bills which can only be beneficial for both the consumer and the environment.” The Electrisave is available to buy for £79.95.
