Events Help People 'Do It'
This month more than 150 would-be entrepreneurs are expected to attend a series of 13 events across Tyne & Wear, aimed at inspiring people who want to start their own business.
The free events form part of a month-long programme by Business Link Tyne & Wear as part of the ‘Everybody’s Doing it’ campaign. The enterprise events cover topics such as developing business ideas, exploring self employment and starting a business in the construction industry.Dan Brophy, Chief Executive of Business Link in Tyne and Wear, said: “Our experience and research shows that some people are more likely to consider starting their own business than others, and there are common links between many of those people who actually go on to setting up.
“With these events we are hoping to reach as many people as possible in those non-traditional groups which may not otherwise think that starting a business is a viable career option. To achieve this, the events are being held in several different geographical locations across Tyne and Wear, in the evening or through the day, and are completely free.
“The events programme is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the TyneWear Partnership via Single Programme Funding from One NorthEast. Business Link provides access to information, support and advice for small, medium and start-up businesses.
