Going Dutch for charity

Cycling non-stop to Holland may seem a difficult task considering the difficulty of cycling on the sea, but a group from Newcastle is attempting it in aid of charity. Tom Cosh, from Newcastle City Council’s City Technology Office is one of those making the journey to raise money for the RVI’s Marrow and Stem Cell Transplant 2000: The Millennium Fund, which supports marrow and stem cell transplant, leukaemia and lymphoma research in adults in the North of England. Tom and the other 120 cyclists will be cycling from Newcastle to DFDS Seaways ferry on North Shields, and they will then take turns to keep a static bicycle moving, until they reach Holland and cycle along the Dutch coast before returning to England.
