Ideas needed on how to spend community cash
Residents in Boldon, Cleadon and Whitburn are being asked for their suggestions on how to spend over £17,500 of community grants. The Local Initiatives Fund (LIF) aims to support projects which improve the quality of life for people living in disadvantaged areas of South Tyneside. It has three components: the LIF Community Chest, which promotes voluntary and community sector activity; the LIF Green Fund, which will fund environmental schemes; and the LIF Community Safety Fund, which will tackle crime and anti-social behaviour. The fund has been established by Transformation, South Tyneside’s Local Strategic Partnership, and a presentation about the restructure of the Partnership and the Local Initiatives Fund will be given at the next meeting of the Boldon, Cleadon and Whitburn Community Area Forum. Members of the public are welcome to attend the next meeting of the Boldon, Cleadon and Whitburn Community Area Forum which takes place in the Drama Hall of Whitburn Community Association, Nicholas Avenue, Whitburn, at 5pm on Thursday, 7th September.
