Lights, camera, action on Tyneside

An acclaimed Tyneside producer is looking to promote the best of the North East’s acting talent with the launch of his own film company. Steve Bowden, who spent the last eight years as joint managing director of Ipso Facto Films, is best known for the recent UK comedy School For Seduction. This latest in a string of films shot on Tyneside starred Kelly Brook and followed the story of a group of disillusioned women who try to change their lives. Steve is hoping to follow the success of School For Seduction with the launch of his new company Vita Nova Films. He said: “These are very exciting times for me. I’m very committed to the region and my aim is to bring together the cream of North East and European talent and promote to an international marketplace.“The company is already off to a flying start as Steve already has four feature films in development. These include Pania, a movie by award-winning New Zealand writer/director Virginia Heath; Prima Primavera, the comeback film of Hungarian director Janos Edelenyi and Czech Made, the English language feature debut of leading Czech director Milan Cieslar.Vita Nova will also produce the next feature film by School For Seduction’s writer/director Sue Heel.
