Local entrepreneur carries the TAG of success
A local entrepreneur has seen sales of her England transfers soar as the team prepares for their quarter final clash against Portugal. Kym Guiney, the 47 year old managing director behind TAG, has sold over 77,000 St George England face transfers in just 3 weeks. The more-than-expected sales have led Kym to order an additional 30,000 in time for the closing stages of the competition. Kym said: “I am amazed. I always knew that if England did progress into the latter stages of the tournament, the greater chance of increased orders. However, I must admit I’ve been overwhelmed with the response. “Many local businesses including pubs, bars, wholesalers and retail outlets are backing the England transfers, and I also spotted the St George TAGs in Germany, at both the Trinidad and Tobago and Sweden games, which was great to see.” Sales during the world cup have been a good yardstick for Kym, who is looking forward to launching her black and white and red and white striped designs for both Newcastle and Sunderland fans. She added: “The next TAGs to be launched will be for the passionate fans here in the North East, with additional premiership and championship clubs being rolled out by the end of the year.”
