North East company to shape web's future

A North East brand technology company will have the opportunity to shape the future development of the web after being accepted into The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Newcastle-based TH_NK is one of few UK-based members to be accepted into the W3C and will join the likes of Adobe, Google, Microsoft and IBM in defining new Web standards and guidelines. TH_NK’s team is now set to form part of specialist ‘Working Groups’. This means that they will have a voice alongside leading industry experts and W3C’s dedicated technical team on the development of new technologies that drive how the Web will accommodate the growing diversity of hardware, software and online audiences. TH_NK Managing Director, Tarek Nseir, said: “Being accepted as a member of such a prestigious and influential industry voice is a major achievement for us and another milestone as, along with the ongoing expansion of TH_NK, we continue to find new ways to raise our game and build upon the dynamic services we offer our clients. It is an honour to be working so closely with some of the most experienced and respected developers from across the globe and to be playing a part in the evolution of Web 2.0 and what it means for both businesses and consumers.”
