North East plays home to daredevil music performance

Two cathedrals in the North East will play home to a daredevil musical performance in the name of charity today. The “Extreme Cellists” will perform on the roofs of Durham and Newcastle cathedrals to raise money for homeless people. The visit to the North East forms the climax of the trio from Sheffield’s tour which has seen them visit all 42 Anglican Cathedrals in England.The group, who were inspired by the sport of “Extreme Ironing” in which contestants iron clothes in locations such as up mountains, up trees and under water, are raising money for charities Shelter and Aspire. Shelter is a charity that helps provide practical support and advice for homeless people, in particular helping to find them homes, and helps those with homes to keep them.
