Parking scam just the ticket?

Drivers in Belgium are avoiding fines by buying used parking tickets on the internet, reveals Ananova.com. Motorists pay approximately £5 for a used ticket which they present to the local council, claiming that the ticket inspector simply did not see it in the car. Marc Van de Vyver, founder of the scheme, said: “We’re not doing anything illegal. Our website is simply a meeting place for collectors of parking tickets, just like there are websites for people who want to exchange stamps.” However, local authorities unsurprisingly disagree. They are seeking legal action as the scheme is costing them thousands of euros in unpaid fines.
