Region's cultural sector seeks service providers
North East digital media companies are being encouraged to add their details to a new online database of potential suppliers for the cultural and heritage sector. The database at www.discs-uk.info/ allows companies to profile their services before the region’s burgeoning culture and heritage sector – comprising over 5500 museums, libraries and archives.Set up by Museums Libraries Archives North East with the support of One NorthEast and the European Development Fund, the site will also be promoted to museums, libraries and archives across the country. For a limited period, it is free to register your products and services on website. Companies that register will also be invited to a free breakfast event in May or June where they can find out more about the opportunities that this sector holds.Between June and September, registered companies can also benefit from heavily subsidised 1-day training events with internationally recognised experts who be sharing hints and tips on making the most of work within this sector. Spaces are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.Find out more by visiting www.discs-uk.info, or contact Lara Robinson (email lara.robinson@mlanortheast.org.uk or call 0191 2221661).
