Turning a paperclip into a house
A Canadian man has finally succeeded in his task to swap a red paperclip for a house. Kyle MacDonald wanted to see if he could continue trading upwards until he had his own home - first came a fish-shaped pen which he swapped for a ceramic door knob, and then a camping stove, all the way up to a snowmobile, a recording contract and at one point, an afternoon with US rock star Alice Cooper. MacDonald was finally offered his own home when he swapped a film role for a three-bedroom house in Kipling, Canada. In keeping with the bizarre developments, locals in his new home town have promised to build a giant red paper clip monument as a reminder of the experiment.
