TV Programme Seeks Age Discrimination Contributors
BBC’s Panorama show is seeking contributors to a programme that it is preparing on age discrimination.
The topical piece comes ahead of age discrimination legislation due later this year, which will see the age of retirement set at 65 but offers the workers the opportunity to ask employers to let them keep on working beyond that age; a request which can be refused.
Panorama is now seeking people who would like to take part in the programme, offering stories and comments on their experiences of age discrimination.
If you would like to get involved in this programme, please contact Miles Crofton, editor of North East magazine Informnorth, which is leading the campaign to ensure that people from the region are represented in this programme, by emailing miles@informnorth.com. To find out more about Informnorth, which was recently cited by Prime Minister Tony Blair as a ‘great example of partnership work’, check out the website at www.informnorth.com.
