Twelve officers raid untaxed Rover
Twelve police and DVLA officials came after one man - because his car was untaxed. Liam O’Connor of Erdington, Birmingham said he was shocked when two patrol cars, a Transit van and three motorcycles turned up at his house – along with three tow trucks.
According to The Sun he said: “It was a fair cop – but what a fuss.” His wife Meg added: “You’d have thought he was wanted for murder… not an offence carrying an £80 fine.” The £600 Rover was taken away but later recovered after O’Connor paid £200. A police spokesman said: “It was a DVLA operation to target untaxed vehicles.”
