1) Business Development Officer

POE/F (£27,492-£32,487pa) Tyne and Wear Development Company is a local authority owned company dealing with inward investment, aftercare of established large businesses and marketing of Tyne and Wear as a business location. Our recent inward investment successes include GE Money, Valeo (UK), Big Lottery Fund, Tacle (UK) and HM Plant.

We currently require a Business Development Officer to help with this important work. The successful applicant will become one of the first points of contact for investment enquiries into the area and therefore a crucial member of the team.

They will need the knowledge and experience to be able to work with business representatives at the very highest levels and will be a good communicator with excellent presentation skills. They will have at least 4 years experience in economic development work and be educated to degree level or possess an equivalent professional qualification. They should have a good knowledge of the area’s business infrastructure and the drive and commitment to meet the company’s high standards.

Duties will include: Co-ordinating and conducting inward investment visits to the area. Working with larger businesses seeking to relocate and/or expand within Tyne and Wear. Conducting aftercare visits as part of a regional programme and liaising with a range of partner organisations including local authorities and One NorthEast.
