Sport and Fitness Show this week
The BUPA Great North Sport and Fitness Show is taking place at the Newcastle Gateshead Quayside this week as a warm-up to the weekend’s Great North Run.
The show, taking place on September 29 and 30, will see BUPA provide sports massage and mini health checks in return for a modest donation to Marie Curie Cancer Care, BUPA’s nominated Great Run charity.
The ultimate aim of the BUPA Great North Sport and Fitness Show 2006 is to deliver information to all age groups on the benefits of an active lifestyle and participation in sport, to create an all-inclusive event. Runners, spectators and the general public all come together to enjoy the interactive exhibition and activities.
Chris Laws, project manager of the Show, said: “We’ve also got some great activities for 2006. The Army has given us support for a number of years and will be back again this year with a climbing wall. Many other companies and associations will also have a variety of activities including a snowboard simulator from Xscape, scrum machine and kicking cage from the Rugby Football Union and a tennis simulator from North East Tennis.”
