Drop-in stall for Teesside job seekers

A drop-in stall to help unemployed people get a foot on the jobs ladder has opened its doors on Teesside. The ‘JobS mart’ is based in the Indoor Market in Middleton Grange Shopping Centre in the unit formerly occupied by Hartlepool Action Team, which has come to an end.

The stall will offer unemployed people in Hartlepool free help with, and advice on, jobs and training, including help with preparing CVs and job applications, a job search, basic benefits advice and guidance on self-employment.

Co-ordinated by Hartlepool Council’s Hartlepool Working Solutions team, the stall will also be manned by staff from JobcentrePlus and other partner organisations such as Hartlepool Voluntary Development Agency, Atwork, the Community Outreach Project, Positive People Development and Remploy. Hartlepool Working Solutions would also like to hear from any other similar organisations interested in becoming involved.

The ‘JobS mart’ stall was officially opened by Hartlepool Mayor Stuart Drummond yesterday. Mayor Drummond said: “The ‘JobS mart’ drop-in stall will make it even easier for unemployed people to find help and advice in their quest for a job, in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I hope as many people as possible will pay a visit and find out about all the support on offer.

“The ‘JobS mart’ stall will be open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 9.30am-4.30pm and Wednesdays 10am-4.30pm. For more information, call 01429 284482.
