US entrepreneurship scholarship for North East textile designer

A North East textile designer has won a scholarship to study at the US College ranked number one among all business schools for entrepreneurship. Victoria Mawhinney, owner of the fashion brand Cameron-Addison, will be travelling to Babson College, Boston to take part in the NETS-UK programme (New Entrepreneurial Transatlantic Scholarship) to study with 19 hand-picked entrepreneurs.

The North East based designer, was selected having taken part in the New Entrepreneur Scholarship Programme at Durham Business School. In August 2005 she launched her own brand Cameron-Addison, and immediately began stocking local independent retailers around the UK with her signature knitwear.

Prior to launching her own business, Victoria had worked for several large clothing manufacturers/retailers as a designer, including Jacques Vert, where she designed embellishments for their ranges Precis Petite, Planet, Windsmoor as well as the Jacques Vert brand itself.
