What do you know about snow?
Discover the science behind ice and snow in the Centre for Life’s new Snow Show, a 20-minute live science show packed full of facts about ice and snow. Find out how ice skates work from a skating Santa, what’s weird about ice, and act like a penguin to keep warm in sub-zero temperatures.
Scientists will also be performing live experiments to explain the science behind Christmas. Demonstrations will take place at various points around the Centre throughout the day until 7th January. Find out why crackers crack and why setting fire to the Christmas pud doesn’t burn it!
The Snow Show is running until 2 January 2007. The outdoor ice rink is at the Centre until 11 February 2007. For further information, call the Centre for Life’s information line on (0191) 243 8210 or visit www.life.org.uk.
