North East firm partners with Amazon
A North East technology firm is launching a new email service to protect businesses from spam, viruses, phishing, and email threats.
Gateshead firm Rozmic has entered into a partnership with online shop Amazon that will give it massive processing power at a fraction of the traditional cost. Rozmic are Amazon User Group Leaders, meaning rather than buy expensive servers, the firm is able to utilise spare processing capacity on Amazon servers.
The company says it is appointing five workers at its base as it launches Email Cloud. This is in addition to seven sales managers, four for England and one each for Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
Ross Cooney, Rozmic managing director, said: “The spam problem is growing exponentially and is costing business billions of pounds worldwide. It is tremendously exciting to offer a complete solution developed here in the North East.
“In the past we would have made a massive capital investment in servers on three continents. Now, we draw down processing power from Amazon where and when it is needed. We really believe this is the solution to a problem facing all businesses large and small - the flood of unwanted spam.”
In early November Mr Cooney is set to visit Australia to establish an Asia Pacific data centre and appoint a sales director for the region. The Australian operation will complement the firm’s data centres in Gateshead, Ireland and Toronto, Canada.
