Multi-Million Pound Boost To Tees Valley Housing
Tees Valley is set to gain around £73 million to improve housing over the next two years. At its meeting yesterday, the North East Housing Board endorsed a plan by Tees Valley Living (TVL) to spend £23 million earmarked last year by Ministers to address housing market renewal issues in the region. The Board also endorsed more spending through the Single Housing Investment Pot (known as SHIP) for housing regeneration for the Tees Valley Living programme and other improvements in the Tees Valley area.
Councillor Alan Napier who represents the North East Regional Assembly on the Board said: “There is a massive job in the North East to modernise houses and provide what people want in the 21st century. The Board applauds Tees Valley Living for their considerable work in assessing housing throughout Tees Valley”.
The plans must now go to Ministers in London for approval.
