e-Government Award just the job for local employers and young people

An online vacancy system which provides jobs and training for 16 and 17 year olds has just been announced as an e-Government national finalist.

The system, developed by Connexions Tyne and Wear, the advice and support service for 13 to 19 year olds, contains hundreds of jobs and work based training opportunities which young people can apply for online.

People can also register their details to receive emails telling them when new jobs that match their requirements become available. The system also has a CV creator.

The e-Government National Awards highlight the UK’s most effective government services which have positively transformed the lives of citizens, local communities and businesses, and winners will be announced and presented with their e-Government National Awards on 22nd January 2008 in London.

Local employers can advertise their job vacancies on this popular system free of charge. To find out more call 0800 073 8700 and ask for Workforce Development.
