Distance learning proves its worth

A North East businessman is pointing to his own successful career as a prime example of the benefits of studying through distance learning. Kevin Rumfitt was working as a forklift truck driver ten years ago, and has now worked his way up to the highest level of professional qualification, all through distance learning.

Kevin launched his own business, Durham Logistics College, in 2002, and is delighted to be helping others to further their own careers.

Kevin said: “I cannot emphasise enough just how important distance learning has been to me. Through my own determination to succeed I have progressed my career to the highest level. “I think this is something every young person should aim to achieve. With help from a dedicated learning provider they too can enhance their career prospects.”

Durham Logistics College offers institute-approved qualifications, ranging from intermediate to degree-level. The college’s current pass rate for these qualifications is 97%.

Kevin, continues: “Many people in pressurised manufacturing, supply chain and logistics roles simply can’t find the time to study. Our packages offer flexible studying that is ideal for both the learner and their employer, allowing people to progress as I did without taking time from their job, which is often not practical.”

The five core training areas provided by the college are Logistics, Purchasing, Manufacturing Operations, Leadership and Export with all courses approved by some of the UK’s largest professional management and logistics institutes.
